Autonomous Vehicle Embedded Software Engineer in USA new

Responsibilities

  • Develop features for embedded applications operating on unmanned robotic vehicles.
  • Participate in requirements development, design, implementation, testing, software integration, and support throughout the software development life cycle.
  • Diagnose and correct reported defects and support fielded systems.
  • Write understandable C and C++ code, continuously refactor, and design for reuse.
  • Perform unit testing, integration testing, and system simulation.
  • Participate in systems engineering to ensure smooth software integration.
  • Use design patterns, SOLID principles, and distributed version control systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field; a master’s degree is preferred.
  • 3–5 years of professional experience designing and implementing embedded, real-time software systems using C/C++ for embedded processors.
  • Familiarity with large multithreaded embedded applications running on an RTOS.
  • Familiarity with electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Experience with senior software engineering is preferred.
  • Desirable skills include embedded device drivers, unmanned vehicle systems, flash programming tools, TCP, UDP, CAN, SPI, RS232, ROS/ROS2, GPS, LIDAR, RADAR, and ultrasonic sensor interfacing.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Benefits

  • Base compensation is listed at $73,150–$174,000 per year, with potential additional variable compensation, bonuses, or commissions.
  • Benefits for regular full-time employees may include 12–25 vacation days depending on grade, company holidays, personal days, sick leave, medical, dental and vision coverage, retirement savings plans, life and disability insurance, and employee assistance programs.
  • The position is located in Dallas, Texas, and may require 0–15% travel.

Salary: $73k - $174k/yr
