Responsibilities

Own a feature, service, data product, or material software component from design through production within agreed guardrails.
Build, test, deploy, monitor, and support reliable production software, data solutions, digital products, platforms, or related technology services.
Make routine technical decisions, explain trade-offs, and seek broader input when risk or complexity requires it.
Create automated quality evidence through unit, integration, component, contract, end-to-end, performance, or resilience testing.
Design for failure conditions, operational visibility, safe deployment, recovery, and reliable customer outcomes.
Contribute through code reviews, pairing, documentation, incident learning, and continuous improvement.
Collaborate with product, design, delivery, data, and technology colleagues while following engineering, security, risk, and accessibility standards.

Requirements

Practical experience building, testing, and supporting production software, data solutions, digital products, platforms, or related technology services.
Working knowledge of at least one relevant programming language, such as Java, Kotlin, C#, TypeScript, JavaScript, Python, or Go.
Experience contributing to maintainable code and using source control, peer review, and automated testing in day-to-day delivery.
Understanding of service or interface development, data handling, and integration patterns, including REST, gRPC, events, SQL, APIs, or data pipelines.
Experience with modern delivery practices such as Git, continuous integration and delivery, containers, cloud services, infrastructure as code, or similar tooling.
Understanding of production operations, including logging, monitoring, incident diagnosis, recovery, and continuous improvement.
Security- and risk-aware approach with attention to secure defaults, privacy, accessibility, quality, and reliable customer outcomes.
Clear communication, constructive collaboration, and ability to explain technical choices and work across disciplines.
Useful additional experience includes web or mobile engineering, data engineering, analytics platforms, machine learning, generative AI, model operations, AI evaluation or observability, contact centre technology, AWS, Azure, Kubernetes, Terraform, regulated environments, or AI-assisted engineering tools.
