Responsibilities

  • Develop, review, and execute software and system test cases, scripts, and procedures.
  • Perform requirements-based verification and functional, system, integration, regression, and performance testing of safety-critical avionics software.
  • Test software on avionics hardware platforms and integrated hardware/software environments, including simulation, bench, and hardware-in-the-loop environments when applicable.
  • Analyze test results, troubleshoot technical issues, and document anomalies, defects, corrective actions, and verification results.
  • Perform DO-178C verification activities and prepare traceable certification evidence and related documentation.
  • Review requirements for clarity, completeness, consistency, and testability, and maintain bidirectional traceability between requirements and verification artifacts.
  • Use SCADE in model-based software development and verification environments and apply Java development experience to testing, automation, troubleshooting, and verification.
  • Support navigation avionics, aircraft safety, system safety, FAA certification, and related technical review activities.
  • Collaborate with software, systems, hardware, test, certification, and program engineering teams.
  • Work independently in a remote engineering environment and communicate technical findings clearly.

Requirements

  • At least eight years of professional software development, software verification, software testing, or related engineering experience.
  • At least five years of Java development experience.
  • Direct professional experience using SCADE.
  • Direct experience supporting DO-178C software development, verification, testing, or certification activities.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and executing requirements-based software test cases and procedures.
  • Experience with functional, system, integration, or performance testing of avionics systems and with software testing alongside avionics hardware.
  • Experience supporting avionics certification and testing activities, navigation or inertial navigation systems, FAA certification, aircraft safety analysis, or other safety-critical aviation processes.
  • Ability to analyze software and system requirements and translate them into executable verification activities.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, written, and verbal technical communication skills, with exceptional attention to detail.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Preferred qualifications include IBM DOORS or comparable requirements-management tools, detailed requirements analysis, GPS-aided navigation, guidance or control systems, test automation, automated test frameworks, hardware-in-the-loop or simulation environments, VectorCAST, LDRA, static analysis tools, Python, C, C++, DO-254, ARP4754A, ARP4761, and FAA or military airworthiness certification experience.

Salary: $100k - $150k/yr
