Responsibilities

  • Build authoring services, APIs, schemas, validation workflows, review workflows, and versioning for knowledge systems.
  • Develop pipelines that derive and enrich knowledge from customer events, documents, and product signals.
  • Implement quality checks, provenance, lineage, ownership, consent, privacy, and fine-grained access controls.
  • Build low-latency retrieval services using structured lookups, graph traversal, keyword search, and semantic vector search.
  • Implement ranking, filtering, freshness, deduplication, caching, indexing, and observability for retrieval quality and performance.
  • Build evaluation harnesses and metrics for relevance, coverage, latency, and staleness.
  • Define knowledge models and ontology strategy, own retrieval architecture tradeoffs, and lead evaluation strategy across teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, including designing and operating production distributed systems.
  • Strong programming skills in Java, Python, Kotlin, or similar languages, with deep knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and distributed-systems fundamentals.
  • Experience with large-scale data and streaming technologies such as Kafka, Flink, Spark, Cassandra, Iceberg, or graph and search stores.
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure, preferably AWS, and production operations.
  • Record of leading projects from ambiguous requirements through launch with measurable impact.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to influence across teams.
  • Preferred experience includes LLMs, RAG, vector or graph retrieval, agent and context-engineering patterns, data governance, lineage, fine-grained access control, event-driven architectures, customer data platforms, customer journey modeling, mentoring, or technical leadership.
