Responsibilities

  • Lead architecture, design, and development of scalable data and ML infrastructure for fraud detection, risk evaluation, and trust systems.
  • Build and optimize high-volume batch and real-time data pipelines with low latency and high reliability.
  • Own the productionization, deployment, scaling, and optimization of machine learning models.
  • Bridge Data Science and Engineering requirements by translating modeling needs into scalable engineering solutions.
  • Define technical vision and roadmaps for data processing, ML platforms, and fraud detection infrastructure.
  • Lead complex cross-functional initiatives, establish engineering practices, mentor senior engineers, and guide technical decisions and critical production incidents.

Requirements

  • 13+ years of experience in backend engineering, data engineering, or large-scale distributed systems development.
  • Strong experience building large-scale, real-time distributed data processing systems and low-latency, high-throughput pipelines.
  • Hands-on experience with Apache Flink, Kafka, Spark Streaming, or similar streaming frameworks.
  • Strong proficiency in Java-based backend development and distributed systems architecture.
  • Experience deploying, scaling, and optimizing machine learning models in production environments.
  • Strong knowledge of system design, scalability, fault tolerance, and operational excellence.
  • Preferred: experience in fraud detection, risk systems, trust and safety, payments risk, commerce, marketplaces, fintech, ML platforms, model serving, feature stores, inference pipelines, or systems processing millions of events or transactions per day.
  • Preferred: experience partnering with Data Science teams, using GenAI tools for software development and productivity, and working with cloud-native, containerized, and modern infrastructure platforms.
