Responsibilities

Develop highly reliable real-time software for network switches, servers, ground antennas, and satellites.
Own software through architecture, implementation, testing, deployment, support, and continual improvement based on real-world deployments.
Develop tools for testing, performance monitoring, and troubleshooting.
Build prototypes and manage experiments to validate design concepts.
Develop next-generation networking technologies for routing data across satellites, ground stations, and users.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, math, or a science discipline.
Experience with networking protocols such as UDP and TCP/IP and with operating systems.
Preferred experience writing software for embedded devices.
Preferred production experience with C or C++.
Preferred experience owning software development, testing, and deployment for real-world applications.
Preferred experience with network optimization, traffic shaping, or bandwidth management.
Preferred experience with distributed-system and internet-service security issues.
Deep understanding of service-provider networks, including connectivity, routing, and internet services.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Must meet applicable ITAR eligibility requirements or be eligible to obtain required U.S. Department of State authorizations.

Benefits

Base salary range is $125,000-$165,000 for Level 1 and $145,000-$200,000 for Level 2.

Company shuttles are available Monday through Friday for roundtrip travel from select Seattle locations to the SpaceX Redmond office.
