Staff Engineer - Customer Onboarding in USA new

Responsibilities

  • Lead the architecture and evolution of global merchant onboarding systems.
  • Build lifecycle orchestration that accelerates activation without compromising stability.
  • Architect an LLM-powered onboarding concierge for document interpretation, regulatory reasoning, and compliance-blocker resolution.
  • Shape the strategic roadmap with engineering leadership, Staff Engineers, and Product teams.
  • Establish technical standards for compliant and performant onboarding across regions.
  • Mentor engineers and align Risk, Operations, and Product teams on the onboarding technical vision.

Requirements

  • Track record building resilient, distributed systems and understanding system bottlenecks.
  • Deep understanding of security-by-design, KYC, identity verification, and regulated data handling.
  • Deep proficiency in Java and experience building high-concurrency API architectures.
  • Experience or deep technical interest in production-grade LLM interfaces, including harnesses, policy enforcement, evaluations, RAG architectures, and secure data handling.
  • Ability to operate autonomously and align diverse teams in a large global organization.
