Staff Fullstack Engineer - AI Acceleration in Canada

Responsibilities

  • Define authorization models and enforce least privilege for AI agent actions.
  • Build phishing-resistant authentication and authorization for people and AI agents.
  • Shape product outcomes by understanding customer needs and defining solutions.
  • Make and defend architectural decisions for distributed systems and complex API integrations.
  • Build reliable, secure enterprise software and robust frontends.
  • Advance the use of AI across the software development lifecycle and establish team practices.
  • Coach teammates and raise the team’s technical bar.
  • Drive improvements in technical debt, CI/CD, observability, documentation, reliability, and support.
  • Maintain a clear connection between engineering work, customer problems, and desired outcomes.

Requirements

  • Advanced proficiency applying AI tools across the software development lifecycle and evaluating new tooling.
  • Proven experience defining scalable backend architectures and integrating complex APIs with modern web technologies.
  • Strong understanding of web authentication, authorization flows, and protection of sensitive user data.
  • Deep expertise building reliable, secure, enterprise-grade software in Java or another type-safe language.
  • High proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript with fullstack capability, including robust frontend development.
  • Strong cloud architecture fundamentals and experience designing and operating large-scale services on AWS.
  • Ability to work autonomously, operate in ambiguity, and help form a new team charter.
  • Preferred experience with zero-to-one or startup-like teams, leading organizational shifts such as AI adoption or developer-tooling changes, or developing IAM tooling.

  • Annual base salary range of $160,000-$220,000 CAD for candidates located in Canada.
