Responsibilities

Guide the team in designing, building, testing, upgrading, and optimizing Vena’s core platform.
Resolve complex bugs and technical challenges in foundational backend systems.
Drive modernization, product quality, code quality, performance, and infrastructure improvement initiatives.
Lead technical projects, collaborate with architecture and product teams on roadmaps, and address cross-team technical issues.
Mentor and upskill developers while contributing directly to the codebase.
Identify, prioritize, and address technical debt during planning.
Promote AI-driven development practices and productivity tooling.

Requirements

8+ years of software development experience focused on backend or server-side engineering.
Strong proficiency in Java and experience building and maintaining RESTful APIs.
Experience with Dropwizard or Spring Boot; Dropwizard experience is preferred.
Experience modernizing large, established codebases and applying object-oriented design patterns.
Understanding of algorithms and computational complexity.
Experience leading technical projects and mentoring developers.
Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure or AWS, and CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps or Jenkins.
Post-secondary education in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline and/or equivalent experience.
Interest in AI-driven solutions and experience working in Scrum/Agile and distributed-team environments.

Benefits

The role is based in Pune and requires working from the office five days per week.
Base salary range is 3,799,461 - 5,140,448 INR.
Compensation may be adjusted based on location, skills, experience, education, role progression, and growth.
