Responsibilities

Own frontend quality, consistency, performance, and visual craft for high-traffic Stripe Dashboard pages.
Identify and execute improvements to Dashboard consistency, performance, polish, and discoverability.
Partner with Design and Product as the technical voice on frontend feasibility, quality standards, and implementation approach.
Contribute to and advocate for Stripe’s design system across Dashboard and other product surfaces.
Establish frontend quality standards, code review practices, patterns, and implementation guidance for junior engineers.
Prototype and explore AI-powered experiences for merchant product discovery and interaction.
Collaborate with backend engineers on integration points while keeping frontend craft as the core focus.
Mentor early-career engineers and raise team-wide quality standards.

Requirements

Typically 10+ years of experience building and shipping complex, user-facing web applications at large scale.
Deep expertise in modern frontend development and the ability to execute highly precise, high-quality UI.
Demonstrated success driving measurable improvements to UI consistency and polish across large, distributed products.
Experience translating design intent into high-quality production implementations while working closely with Design teams.
Ability to work across a large codebase and bring coherence to high-traffic product surfaces.
Preferred: a design portfolio and frontend code demonstrating engaging microsites, Figma plugins, creative code, design systems, or similar work.
Preferred: familiarity with frontend performance engineering, including profiling, instrumentation, and optimization.
Preferred: experience prototyping or shipping AI-powered features.
Preferred: experience mentoring early-career engineers and contributing to team-wide quality standards.
Preferred: comfort working across the full stack with a strong preference for frontend craft.
Preferred: advanced React proficiency focused on interactions, animation, performance, and refinement.
Preferred: experience with A/B testing, synthetic monitoring, or accessibility testing.
